DuBois Country Club

DuBois, Pa

Join us for the inaugural Kevin O'Donnell Memorial Golf Tournament, a day of golf, camaraderie, and remembrance to honor the life and legacy of Kevin O'Donnell—beloved teacher, coach, mentor, and friend to many in the DuBois community and beyond.

Affectionately known as “Coach” or simply “K.O.,” Kevin dedicated his life to shaping the minds and hearts of young people both in the classroom and on the field. From his early days as a standout athlete to decades spent as an inspiring educator and coach in wrestling, baseball, and golf, Kevin’s unwavering commitment to students left a lasting mark.

To carry forward his incredible legacy, all proceeds from this event will support the O’Donnell Scholars, an endowed scholarship for students from DuBois Area High School who demonstrate Kevin’s values of integrity, perseverance, and community spirit.

Whether you knew him as a coach, colleague, neighbor, or friend, this tournament offers a unique way to celebrate Kevin’s life—by giving back to the community he loved so deeply.

Tournament Format

Two-person Scamble: Both players tee off on every hole, and the team selects the best shot. Both players hit again from that position, repeating this process until the ball is holed. The shot chosen must be marked before proceeding, and each subsequent shot must be played from within one club length of the original position, except on the green, where the ball must be placed within one putter head length. The one-club-length rule cannot improve the lie by moving the ball out of hazards, rough, bunkers, or onto the green. Once on the green, the team selects the best ball position again, and both players putt from the chosen spot. The ball must be placed within one putter head length of the mark. If the first player makes the putt, the second player does not need to putt. The team's score for each hole is determined by the number of strokes taken from the selected shots, and the total team score is recorded over 18 holes.

A sudden-death wrestling match will decide ties for first place in each division on the putting green. Each team will determine one player to send out, and the team that records the first takedown will be declared the winner. In the event of more than two teams tying for first place, things will get fun: all teams tied for the lead will be involved in the wrestle-off, and the last participant standing will be the winner. All other ties will be broken by the USGA-prescribed low back nine, low front nine, and then the lowest handicap hole.

35% of the low handicap and 20% of the high handicap for each group.
